We are very proud of David Neal on being selected to participate in the Crisis Program for academically gifted students conducted by the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP).  David was selected from an applicant pool representing the top elementary and middle school students in the United States.  David spent one week in the program this past summer and received excellent evaluations.  Congratulations David!

Congratulations to Abby Scharber and Maddie Murch on their Academic Achievement with the Duke University TIP Program!

Duke University runs the Talent Identification Program (TIP) that identifies academically strong 6 grader students. The students identified are invited to take the SAT (College Entrance Exam) in 7th grade.  Abby Scharber and Maddie Murch were invited to take the SAT earlier this year because of their exceptionally high scores on their 6 grade ITBS tests.  Both girls scored better on the SAT than 77% of college-bound high school seniors in the state of Florida in Mathematics and better than 68% of college-bound seniors nationwide. And, both girls also qualified for the Duke TIP Award in Mathematics and Reading!  Abby and Maddie’s accomplishments were acknowledged at a special awards ceremony earlier this Spring at the University of South Florida.  We are so proud of these outstanding students.

Maddie Murch goes to the State STEM Competition!

Maddie Murch (7th Grade) represented Bishop Larkin at the 61st State Science and Engineering Fair of Florida STEM Competition March 29 - 31, 2016 .  Maddie qualified for the State Competition by coming in 1st place in her division at the Pasco County Regional and Engineering Science Fair in February.  Other top finishers in their respective divisions at the Regional Fair were: 2nd Place:  David Neal (6th Grade) and Abby Scharber (7th Grade), 3rd Place: Allison Gray (8th Grade) and Tommy Cote (8th Grade), 4th Place: Teddy Riser (4th Grade). Congratulations to everyone!

Congratulations Ben Miller!

What does a Catholic education mean to me?"  That was the question posed to the roughly 600 eighth graders across the Diocese as part of the Catholic Foundation Essay Competition sponsored by Saint Leo University.

The Bishop Larkin Family is proud to congratulate graduate Ben Miller for being an Essay Competition award winner this past school year. Ben's Essay was awarded third place and he received a $1000 Scholarship to Bishop McLaughlin!  Ben was honored at an awards mass at our school and also at the Catholic Foundation Celebration on February 6, 2016.
