Congratulations to Abby Scharber and Maddie Murch on their Academic Achievement with the Duke University TIP Program!
Duke University runs the Talent Identification Program (TIP) that identifies academically strong 6 grader students. The students identified are invited to take the SAT (College Entrance Exam) in 7th grade. Abby Scharber and Maddie Murch were invited to take the SAT earlier this year because of their exceptionally high scores on their 6 grade ITBS tests. Both girls scored better on the SAT than 77% of college-bound high school seniors in the state of Florida in Mathematics and better than 68% of college-bound seniors nationwide. And, both girls also qualified for the Duke TIP Award in Mathematics and Reading! Abby and Maddie’s accomplishments were acknowledged at a special awards ceremony earlier this Spring at the University of South Florida. We are so proud of these outstanding students.
